Our volunteers were serving non-stop. 96 friends had barbecue chicken wings, mashed potatoes, string beans, dinner rolls, beverages and cookies.

We were able to offer clothing this month that had been donated to us. In addition, each friend who got a meal was also blessed with two new pairs of socks.

"Many hands make light work." We work together to make this happen.

Colleagues for more than 30 years, Arlita and Erika are now serving friends in need together.

Each person we served had options for the type of pasta they wanted and options for dessert. We aim to please.

Our Junior Ambassadors made affirmation cards to let our friends know that they matter and that they are important to us. Each friend was gifted with an affirmation card with their meal.

A few minutes of their time and energy can definitely turn someone's day around.

The bakery made a generous donation of 100 delicious, fresh-baked cookies to add to the snack bags we were preparing for our friends in need. We were preparing for our Walk For Essentials to be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023.

We enjoy serving our community! Seventy-one people received a small blessing because of the generosity of our donors. Team Carrie Cares thanks you!

After sorting the snacks and assembling the bags, the children boxed up the bags to get ready for the Walk For Essentials.

Our donors made sure to support us so that our Walk For Essentials would be a success! We are so appreciative of those who supported this event!

Children can learn when they are young to give back to the community.

We were excited to prepare for our event. We partnered with Haircutz 4 the Homeless for their Annual Labor Day event on Monday, September 4, 2023 in Center City, Philadelphia. Our triplets (Ka'Ana, Kemyatta and Ka'Sai) and Brielle were heading into the store ready to buy healthy snacks for our friends in need.

Arlita, our secretary, who the kids affectionately call Ummi, and the children in our family, shopping for all the healthy snacks that we put in our snack bags.

The kids played a huge part in deciding what we chose to put in our snack packs. You can see Brielle using her calculator to make sure we stayed within our budget.

Once we explained to the kids in our family that everyone doesn't get to eat everyday, they took pride in the assembly of the Carrie Cares Snack Packs.

It took teamwork to get our table organized before we starting serving our friends in need.

We were blessed to have 50 snack packs, 50 personal hygiene pouches and clothing to give away. We had to restock the table multiple times throughout the day as we served those in need.

Our partner non-profit and extended family Haircutz 4 The Homeless allowed us to served pizza and cold water at Broad & Walnut Streets while B, the barber gave out free haircuts to those suffering from homelessness.

For our very first event, in February 2023, we took all of our generous donations and gave out over 50 of these warm bags to those in need.
